Tax Management in iVendNext makes handling Sales Tax, Purchase Tax, and GST easy and accurate. It helps businesses stay compliant, manage complex tax setups, and file returns on time. This article covers how iVendNext supports tax setup, reporting, and filing across regions.




Setting Up Tax Accounts Templates

Before you can start managing taxes in iVendNext, you need to set up the necessary tax accounts. Here’s how to do it:


  1. Navigate to Tax Accounts Template
    Go to: Home > Accounting > Tax Masters > Item Tax Template.


  1. Create a New Tax Account Template
    Click on New to create a new tax account. Enter the Tax Name, Rate, and Account Type (e.g., Sales Tax, Purchase Tax, GST).


  1. Link to Ledger Accounts
    Link the tax account to the appropriate ledger accounts (e.g., Sales Tax Payable, Purchase Tax Receivable).


  1. Save and Submit
    Once all details are entered, click Save and then Submit to activate the tax account.





Applying Taxes to Sales and Purchase Transactions

iVendNext allows you to apply taxes to sales and purchase transactions automatically. Here’s how it works:


  1. Create a Sales or Purchase Invoice
    Go to: Home > Accounting > Sales Invoice or Purchase Invoice and create a new invoice.


  1. Select Items
    Add the items to the invoice. iVendNext will automatically apply the relevant taxes based on the tax accounts linked to the items.


  1. Review Tax Details
    The invoice will display the applied taxes, including the tax amount and the tax account.


  1. Save and Submit
    Once all details are entered, click Save and then Submit to create the invoice with the applied taxes.





Generating Tax Reports

iVendNext provides several tax reports to help businesses track and manage their tax obligations. Here are some of the key reports:


1. Sales and Purchase Registers

These reports provide a detailed summary of all sales and purchase transactions, including the tax amounts collected or paid. Here’s how to access them:


  1. Navigate to Sales or Purchase Register
    Go to: Accounts > Taxes > Sales Register or Purchase Register.


  1. Filter by Period
    Select the period for which you want to generate the report.


  1. View Tax Details
    The report will display the invoiced amount, tax amount, and total amount for each transaction.



2. GST Reports (India)

For businesses in India, iVendNext provides specialized GST reports to help with compliance:


  1. GSTR-1 (Outward Supplies)
    Go to: Accounts > Goods and Services Tax (GST India) > GSTR-1.
    This report shows all outward supplies (sales) in the government-specified format.


  1. GSTR-2 (Inward Supplies)
    Go to: Accounts > Goods and Services Tax (GST India) > GSTR-2.
    This report provides details of all inward supplies (purchases) in the government-specified format.





Handling Multi-Currency Tax Transactions

For businesses operating in multiple currencies, iVendNext ensures accurate tax calculations by handling currency conversions. Here’s how it works:


  1. Set Up Multi-Currency Tax Accounts
    Create tax accounts for each currency in which you operate.


  1. Apply Taxes in Local Currency
    When creating invoices, iVendNext will apply taxes in the local currency and convert them to the base currency for reporting.


  1. Generate Multi-Currency Tax Reports
    Tax reports can be generated in the base currency or any other currency, ensuring accurate tax reporting for multi-currency transactions.
