In iVendNext, efficiently organizing and accessing data is crucial for smooth business operations. One way to enhance usability is by customizing the sorting order in List Views. Whether you need items sorted by Item Code, Date, or any other field, iVendNext allows you to configure ascending (A-Z, oldest to newest) or descending (Z-A, newest to oldest) order to match your workflow.
This guide provides a step-by-step approach to customizing sorting in List Views, ensuring your records are displayed in the most logical and accessible way.
Before diving into the steps, let’s understand why this feature matters:
✔ Faster Navigation – Quickly locate records (e.g., newest orders first).
✔ Improved Data Analysis – Sort sales data by value, date, or priority.
✔ Consistency Across Teams – Standardize how records appear for all users.
Log in to your iVendNext account.
Navigate to:
Home > Customization > Form Customization > Customize Form.
(See example below)
From the dropdown, choose the DocType (e.g., Item, Sales Order, Customer) for which you want to modify sorting.
Click Edit to proceed.
Under Sorting Options, you will find two key fields:
Sort Field – Select the field by which records should be sorted (e.g., Item_Code, Creation_Date).
Sort Order – Choose either:
Asc (Ascending) – A-Z, oldest to newest, lowest to highest.
Desc (Descending) – Z-A, newest to oldest, highest to lowest.
Save your changes.
Navigate back to the List View of the selected DocType.
Confirm that records are now displayed in the new sorting order.
If changes don’t appear, clear your browser cache or refresh iVendNext.
🔹 Use Descending for Time-Based Records (e.g., latest invoices first).
🔹 Sort by High-Priority Fields (e.g., Item Code for inventory, Due Date for tasks).
🔹 Test in Different Views (e.g., Kanban, Report) to ensure consistency.
