Customizing Sorting Order in List Views

Overview

Customize List View sorting in iVendNext to match your workflow.

Sort by Item Code, Date, or any field—ascending or descending. This guide walks you through setup for clearer, faster access to records.

Why Customize Sorting Order?

Before diving into the steps, let’s understand why this feature matters:

Faster Navigation – Quickly locate records (e.g., newest orders first).
Improved Data Analysis – Sort sales data by value, date, or priority.
Consistency Across Teams – Standardize how records appear for all users.

Step-by-Step Guide to Customizing Sorting Order

Step 1: Access Form Customization

  1. Log in to your iVendNext account.

  1. Navigate to:
Home > Customization > Form Customization > Customize Form.
    (See example below)

Step 2: Select the Relevant DocType

  1. From the dropdown, choose the DocType (e.g., Item, Sales Order, Customer) for which you want to modify sorting.

  1. Click Edit to proceed.

Step 3: Configure Sorting Settings

Under Sorting Options, you will find two key fields:

  1. Sort Field – Select the field by which records should be sorted (e.g., Item_Code, Creation_Date).

  1. Sort Order – Choose either:

  • Asc (Ascending) – A-Z, oldest to newest, lowest to highest.

  • Desc (Descending) – Z-A, newest to oldest, highest to lowest.

  1. Save your changes.

Step 4: Verify the Changes

  1. Navigate back to the List View of the selected DocType.

  2. Confirm that records are now displayed in the new sorting order.

  3. If changes don’t appear, clear your browser cache or refresh iVendNext.
