Customizing Module Visibility

Customizing Module Visibility

Introduction

iVendNext is designed to serve businesses across various industries, including Manufacturing, Retail, and Education. To enhance usability, the system organizes functionalities into Modules, represented as cards on the dashboard. This article provides a step-by-step guide on customizing module visibility to align with your business needs.

Understanding Modules in iVendNext

Modules are dedicated sections that group related features. Examples include:

  • Core Modules: Human Resources, Accounting, CRM.

  • Industry-Specific Modules: Manufacturing, Retail, Education.

Info
Each module appears as a card on the dashboard, ensuring easy access to relevant tools.

How to Customize Module Visibility

1. Globally Show or Hide Modules

You can hide modules that are irrelevant to your business. For example, a service-based company may disable the Manufacturing module.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the iVendNext Home Page.

  2. Click on Show/Hide Modules (located in the top-right corner).

  3. Check or uncheck the modules you wish to display or hide.

NotesNote: In versions older than v12, click on your username, select 'Everyone', and manage module visibility from there.

2. Role-Based Module Visibility

Modules automatically hide for users who lack permissions for documents within them. For instance:

  • If a user has no access to Purchase Orders or Suppliers, the Buying module will be hidden.

Troubleshooting Missing Modules:
If a module is not visible despite having permissions:

  1. Verify User Roles: Ensure the user has the correct role (e.g., "Website Manager" for the Website module).

  2. Check Role Permissions: Go to Role Permission Manager to confirm access rights.

  3. Enable the Module: Under Settings > Allow Modules, ensure the module is enabled.

Best Practices for Module Management

  1. Audit User Roles Regularly: Ensure roles align with business processes.

  2. Hide Unused Modules: Reduce dashboard clutter for better focus.

  3. Test Changes: Reload the system after updates to confirm visibility adjustments.

Conclusion

Customizing module visibility in iVendNext ensures a streamlined and efficient workspace tailored to your business needs. By following the steps above, you can optimize the system for your team and improve productivity.
