Understanding and Customizing Modules

Overview

iVendNext supports businesses of all sizes across industries like Retail, Manufacturing, and Education. Its features are grouped into Modules, shown as cards on the dashboard. This article explains how to use and customize these modules to fit your needs.



What Are Modules?

Modules in iVendNext are dedicated sections that group related functionalities. For example:


  • Core Modules: Human Resources, Accounting, CRM.

  • Industry-Specific Modules: Manufacturing, Retail, Education.


InfoInfo: Each module is represented as a card on the dashboard, making it easy to navigate and access relevant tools.


Customizing Module Visibility

1. Globally Showing or Hiding Modules

You can hide modules that are irrelevant to your business. For instance, a service-based business may hide the Manufacturing module.


Steps:


  1. Navigate to the iVendNext Home Page.

  2. Click on Show/Hide Cards.

  3. Check or uncheck the modules you want to display or hide.


NotesNote: You can go to your username, select 'Everyone', and manage module visibility from there.


2. Role-Based Module Visibility

Modules are automatically hidden for users who lack permissions for documents within that module. For example:


NotesNote: If a user has no access to Purchase Orders or Suppliers, the Buying module will be hidden for them.

Troubleshooting Visibility Issues:
If a module is missing despite having permissions:


  1. Ensure the user has the correct Role (e.g., "Website Manager" for the Website module).

  2. Check Role Permission Manager to verify permissions.

  3. Confirm the module is enabled under 'Allow Modules' in settings.



Best Practices for Module Management

Some of the best practices are:


  1. Audit User Roles: Regularly review roles to ensure alignment with business processes.

  2. Hide Unused Modules: Reduce clutter by hiding irrelevant modules.

  3. Test Visibility Changes: Reload the system after making changes to see the updates.
