What is an iVendNext Gift Card?

A Gift Card is a prepaid card with a specific monetary value that customers can use for purchases at your store. Key characteristics include:


  • Unique Serial Number: Each card has a distinct identifier.

  • Flexible Redemption: Can be redeemed partially or fully.

  • Payment Type: Usable in sales and refund transactions.

Types of Gift Cards

System Defined Gift Cards

  • Pre-configured: Ready-to-use with standardized templates.

  • Quick Setup: Ideal for businesses needing immediate deployment.

  • Limited Customization: Fixed designs and policies.


User Defined Gift Cards

  • Fully Customizable: Tailor designs, values, and expiry rules.

  • Branding: Add logos and promotional messages.

  • Complex Setup: Requires configuration but offers greater control.

Getting Started

To create your first Gift Card:


  1. Navigate to: Retail > Items and Pricing > Item.

  2. Click the Add Item button

  3. Select the Item Group

  4. Specify the Default Unit of Measure (UOM)

  5. Untick Maintain Stock to mark it as non-stock item

  6. Tick the Is Gift Card option

  7. Choose the Gift Card Type: System Defined | User Defined

  8. Set Expiry Days. By default it is set to 0 (Never Expires)

  9. Configure Optional Features:

    • Use as Store Credit: 

Let customers reuse refunds as store credit 

  • Cashback: 

Enable reward on purchases via gift card

  • Recharge: 

Allow gift card recharge at POS

  • Open Price: 

Let cashiers define the card’s sale price at POS

  • Must Swipe Card: 

Enforce swiping at POS instead of manual entry

  • Allow Multiple Redemptions: 

Permit repeated use for multiple purchases
