Troubleshooting Common Issues in iVendNext Stock Reservation

This article will walk you through the common issues related to stock reservation in iVendNext and provide step-by-step solutions to resolve them. 



You must ensure that your stock balance is positive before you enable the “Stock Reservation” feature. When you enable the “Stock Reservation” feature additional settings pertaining to stock reservation are unlocked.

 






1. Issue: Unable to Enable Stock Reservation

Symptoms:

  • The Stock Reservation option is grayed out or unavailable in the settings.

  • You receive an error message when trying to enable stock reservation.


Possible Causes:

  • Negative Stock Balance: Stock reservation cannot be enabled if there is a negative stock balance in your system.

  • Incorrect Settings: The stock reservation feature may not be properly configured in the system settings.


Solution:

  1. Check Stock Levels:


  • Navigate to the Stock Balance report in iVendNext.

  • Ensure that all items have a positive stock balance. If any items show a negative balance, adjust the stock levels accordingly.

  • Once the stock balance is positive, go to Stock Settings.

  • Enable the Stock Reservation feature.


Note: You must ensure that your stock balance is positive before you enable the “Stock Reservation” feature.

  • Navigate to the Stock Balance report to verify that sufficient stock is available for reservation.


  1. Manually Reserve Stock:


  • Open the Sales Order and click on Stock Reservation.

  • Select Reserve and choose the warehouse and quantity to reserve.




3. Issue: Incorrect Quantities Reserved

  • The system reserves the wrong quantity of stock for a sales order.

  • Reserved quantities do not match the sales order requirements.


Possible Causes:

  • Data Entry Errors: The user may have entered incorrect quantities when creating the sales order or reserving stock.

  • System Glitch: A temporary system issue may have caused incorrect stock reservation.


Solution:

  1. Review Sales Order Quantities:


  • Open the Sales Order and verify that the quantities entered are correct.


  1. Adjust Reserved Stock:


  • If the reserved stock is incorrect, unreserve the stock and reserve the correct quantity.

  • To unreserve stock, go to Stock Reservation and select Unreserve.

  • Ensure that your iVendNext system is up to date with the latest patches and updates.




4. Issue: Stock Reservation Entries Not Updating

  • Stock reservation entries are not being updated when changes are made to sales orders or stock levels.

  1. Reconcile Inventory:


  • Perform a stock reconciliation to ensure that all inventory movements are accurately recorded.




5. Issue: Unable to Unreserve Stock

  • The Unreserve button is grayed out or unavailable.

  • Stock remains reserved even after attempting to unreserve it.

  • Linked Documents: The stock reservation may be linked to an active sales order or pick list.

Solution:

  1. Check Linked Documents:


  • Open the Stock Reservation Entry and check if it is linked to an active sales order or pick list.

  • If linked, cancel or modify the linked document before unreserving the stock.


  1. Unreserve from Stock Reservation Entry:


  • Go to the Stock Reservation Entry List.

  • Select the entries you wish to unreserve and click on Actions > Cancel.
